On the case of climate change
Where humans have attempted to cultivate deserts, they are now struggling against soil salinisation and desiccation. Climate change will make this situation in many regions of the world worse and is already leaving its mark today. The answer to climate change has to be: Adaptation - and at the same time climate change mitigation.

Berlin. Millions of people, in Southeast Asia in particular, suffer from chronic arsenic poisoning due to
drinking water contaminated with the substance. Until recently, complex chemical analyses were required
to determine arsenic levels, but now a new biological testing procedure can deliver reliable results inexpensively.
